Newtown Union Health Service have a petition in support of Equity in Health for All New Zealanders urging the Health Select Committee to carry out an inquiry into the effects that the cuts to primary health services will have on high need communities and people. - Petition
KiwiRail has $500 million to spend on building new trains for the Auckland rail network. The expertise and equipment needed to do this exists in New Zealand rail workshops in Lower Hutt and Dunedin. NZ rail workers are skilled, experienced, and want to do this work. Help them make sure our trains are built at home - sign the petition today!
The Government is introducing a new assessment system into our primary schools for children in years one to eight called National Standards. The Government claims their National Standards will help our children do better and will raise the achievement of Māori and Pasifeka students and students with special education needs. These claims are wrong. There is widespread concern about the standards amongst parents, educational experts, principals and teachers. Our children's education is too important to experiment with. We need to trial the standards, not our kids.

Support the campaign to Save Auckland's Assets
Roger Douglas has a Bill before Parliament that would impose Voluntary Student Membership (VSM) on campuses across New Zealand, devastating services and silencing students.
At present, when students enrol at most students' associations they pay a levy that goes towards services like advocacy, welfare services, events like Orientation and support for clubs and sport. They also become members of their students' association, the democratic organisation run by students for students that controls how that money is spent. Students can opt out of membership and their association will not receive that levy.
Students need your help to save our - and your - services. Check out the Save Our Services website and find out what students stand to lose or you can take action by emailing your MPs, making a submission to the Select Committee and signing up to receive campaign updates.
